Save the date: Blue Christmas Service
When: Sunday, December 16th at 7pm
Where: Church sanctuary
What: A service for anyone who has lost a loved one or is feeling “blue” during all the holiday festivities.
We will be Christmas caroling , Sunday December 9 at 3:30. If you enjoy singing Christmas carols please join us at 3:30 where we will be leaving from the church parking lot to cheer up our shut ins. This would be a fun family activity. All are welcome!

The organ fundraising team is selling memorial bricks for our Prayer Garden. A 4x8 brick is $50 and a 8x8 brick is $100. These bricks can be engraved in memory/honor/celebration of anything you would like and are available for all current and/or past members. All monies will go towards our organ fund. Please see Dan at his table at coffee hour for more information.
Let’s get the CHULC nursery up and running again during worship. If you are interested in volunteering to care for young children in the nursery during the 8:15am or 11:00am worship services, please contact Gail Haydt at firstname.lastname@example.org or (570) 977-4065. There will also be a sign-up sheet in the Covenant House at Coffee Hour, if you wish to sign up there. We will begin with trying to fill volunteer spots on the first Sunday of each month (starting Dec. 2) and Christmas Eve (3:00pm and 7:00pm services).
We are in need of lectors and coffee hour hosts/bakers for September and October. Sign-ups are available on the coffee hour table. We could also use a few more people to help with greeting/ushering and receiving offering during our worship services. This is a wonderful way to volunteer your time here at CHULC. Please see Amanda if you are interested in getting on our list.
In efforts to keep the service running smoothly and to save a bit of time we will now be keeping a calendar of temple talks. If you would like to give a temple talk please let the office know the Wednesday before. If you have a future date that you would like to reserve you can let the office know that as well and we will put you on the calendar. We will be scheduling only 1 temple talk per service, unless there is an urgent need to pass on information from council or the call committee. The call committee will be updating us on the 4th Sunday of month.
We are pleased to inform you that we have implemented a new process and plan for working with the Christ Hamilton Facilities. Dan Courtright, our Facilities and Maintenance Director is the key contact for any facilities related concern. If you notice something in need of repair or service, please contact Dan at 570-350-0958 or email@example.com. Dan will work with our sextons, the Property Committee or our volunteers to make arrangements to fix the issue. If you would like to reserve a room or use the Facility for a meeting or gathering, contact Amy Leap at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com Thank you Dan (and team) and Amy for your work in the care and scheduling of our buildings and grounds!
Donations needed for the Pregnancy Resource Center are: Diapers sizes Newborn, 4’s and 5’s, unscented wipes, baby clothing NB through size 2T, any season, new or gently used; baby bath and shampoo, and lotion, bassinets, high chairs, or strollers, particularly umbrella strollers. Please place items in the container in the Covenant House.
Prizes for bingo games at Glucolodge are also needed. The most requested prizes are jewelry: clip-on earrings, long necklaces (over the head) and bracelets. Word Search and Crossword books, pens, socks, and small containers of snacks. Please deposit these items in the container marked Bingo Prizes in the Covenant House.
